My Pet Tag: Milliardo

Instead of doing another book related tag, I decided to mix it up and do the pet tag. Continuing the tag-a-thon, Mischenko tagged me in this cute tag waaay back in December. As I have 3 pets, it’s hard to pick one to talk about but I figured I’d go with the jerk since he’s been featured in a lot of stories and I have quite a bit of pictures of him. Before I get to answering the questions, a tiny bit of back story about me.

I used to HATE cats. I had a dog at the time; beautiful pit bull/lab mix named Cinnaman. He was my first pet ever and I loved him to death. I was all about dogs. I didn’t hate cats with him at the time but I definitely preferred dogs over all. I had this habit of “adopting” animals back then. I’d come home with fish, a snake, an iguana (which all died btw) and finally my turtle. I just loved animals so much and wanted to rescue all the abandoned ones. For example, the iguana had messed up back legs but I took good care of him for as long as he was going to be around. I still have Turtle. It’s been 10+ years. It’s gonna outlive me, I know it.

Anyway, when I was in college, I lived in the dorms for the first year and immediately had enough of that and got a townhouse with a roommate the second year. She had two cats who I thought were pretty cute at first. Turns out they were spawn from Hell. She didn’t allow the cats to come in her bedroom in the night time so they would scratch at my door and meow their heads off cause they wanted in. The poor carpet showed that evidence. Then one time we both went out of town and I came home early to a house covered in remnants of bread and crackers and just everything cause the cats got into the kitchen cabinets and ripped everything apart. I swear I thought we’d been robbed. It was insanity and that moment is when I vowed I’d never have cats and thank god she was a senior cause she was moving out later that year and taking the demons with her.

So, things have changed since then and here is where I introduce Milliardo with the pet tag questions:

1. What is your pets name?

His name is Milliardo. He obtained this name because I told my husband to name the cat. His logic was that it looks like there’s an “M” on his head and we were binge watching an anime called Gundam Wing at the time and one of the main characters name is Milliardo Peacecraft — hence Milliardo the cat was born.

2. What kind of pet is it and what breed?

Milliardo is a cat and I think he has some bengal in him? I don’t know he was a stray so there could be anything in there.

3. How long have you had your pet friend?

Milliardo has been around for quite some time. I think I got him back in 2010-2011ish maybe?

4. How did you get your pet?

Haha, funny story. I’m such a sucker. A friend of mine calls me up and says someone left a box of kittens on her doorstep and asked me if I wanted one. Like I said earlier, I have a reputation of taking in stray animals. After dealing with the devil demon spawn, I was against it. However, I was going to visit a friend in Alabama and she really wanted a kitten. As a favor to her, I decided to go check out these stray cats and pick one out for her. It always fascinates me how kittens come out in all different shades of colors and patterns even though they’re in the same litter. I perused the “offerings” and picked out a cute little rambunctious black and white one for her. Then as I was listening to the story of the cats, here was this cute little patterned thing who was sleeping while all his siblings were jumping around excited and stuff. I looked. Then looked again… And just when I was like okay, walking away now, he opened his eyes and looked me straight in the face. The F bomb came out and next thing you know I’m calling my husband (boyfriend at the time) asking how he liked cats cause I was bringing one home.

5. How old is your pet?

Well assuming my math is right and I got him around 2010-2011, he’s about 8 or 9. We’ll say 8 cause he’s still a kitten in my eyes. ❀

6. What are some quirky things about your pets personality?

He’s a talker. He loves meowing for everything. He also likes drooling. It’s disgusting cause cat drool stinks but if you pet him long enough, he gets up that helicopter purring and he starts drooling. He also likes to sleep at the foot of the bed even though when he cuddles he has to be on your chest right in your face. He also has this habit of walking right in front of you, looking behind to make sure you’re following and then plops his body down on his side so that you trip over him. Or he’ll stand there to wait for you to tap him with your foot so he can plop over sideways. He’s so weird.

7. What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?

It means a lot especially considering I went from hating cats in general to loving them again. Also, he really, really, REALLY likes his mommy more than his daddy so I have that in my favor as well. πŸ˜‰ But honestly, I’m a huge animal lover and huge advocate for all animals so I have great relationships with my pets, my friends pets, the pets up for adoption, all of them.

8. What are some of your favorite past times with your pet?

Well there was that time when I let my friend babysit while we went to Alabama and when I came back she was so stressed cause she could find him anywhere in her house until I came home and called his name and he started meowing and came out of his hiding place (he is SUPER attached to me). Oh! And then there was the time he scratched my husband and the hubs got upset, took him outside and threw him in a snowpile. I had to ignore my cat for a year to get him to like the man again. He’s also a really good hunter. I sic him on insects if they’re around.

9. What are nicknames that you call your pet?

Big boy, monkey chin, mil mil, fat boy (he’s much larger than our other cat and greedy) pretty boy. My mom calls him melonoma.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and got to know my cute little jerk. Have a great Tuesday!

  1. Oh my gosh, I loved reading and learning more about Milliardo! I did wonder how he got his name and I do see the M on his head lol. He’s so funny. I love that you have such a great relationship with him too. So sweet. He has to have some Bengal because those markings are beautiful. I’ve always thought that breed was amazing.

❀ So glad you did this and thanks for linking back. I hope to do this again with Cynder and Winston. πŸ™‚ You should do this again with the others!

    1. Haha yeah. I never thought I’d like a cat this much but I love this little dude. I’m glad cats live for like 20 years cause it means I still have lots of time with him. πŸ™‚ Yes! I saw a picture of a bengal and was like man, that looks like my cat so maybe he’s got some of that in there.

Yes. I’ll definitely consider it at a later date! Thanks for tagging me int he first place πŸ™‚

    1. I found this comment in Spam today but I have a friend who also is deathly allergic to cats. He has to dose up on allergy meds 24 hours before and the day of before he can come over my house.

  2. He’s so cute. Growing up I always had dogs. I don’t think we ever had a cat as a pet. I didn’t get a car as a pet until I met my husband. He had a cat that he found. She was a wild cat when he found her but he brought her in. Unfortunately she passed away last year so now we are back to having dogs and a pig.

      1. She lived a long life. Hubs found her in the woods when she was like a month old. He had her for over 15 years. I might try to do it if I can get my husband to get a picture of her for me. I don’t interact with her but hubby does everyday.

    1. Hahaha, thanks! This guy I works with has adopted all the cats that have wandered into the plant. Right now we have 2 sibling cats and he already has 4 at home talking about he wants to take these two home as well. I don’t know how he does it but he’s a really good cat owner! I’m glad you love his coming to me story. πŸ™‚

  4. Thanks, this brightened my day. I love cats and almost always have more than one, so I know what jerks they can be. The part about tripping you on purpose is definitely a thing! Made me laugh out loud!

    1. Thanks girly! He’s definitely a personality. Don’t you love when the outdoor cats adopt you instead of the other way around? I bet he’s super cute! Does he get along with the puppies?

      1. He is really cute. He is still skiddish and untrusting. He will tolerate me petting him only when putting his food bowl in his house and occasionally when giving him a treat. I call to him all the time and try to reassure him that I’m not going to hurt him but he is still a semi-feral cat.

    1. Yeah he does. One day I should record the plop he does in front of feet. Its like a trigger or something. He is pretty much uninterested in everything unless he hears the food bag or a can open, haha.
