Weekend Shenanigans

So this is what I woke up to this morning:

Can’t deny that it’s not gorgeous even though I’m so over snow it’s not even funny. That’s okay though cause tomorrow is supposed to be 65 degrees and thunderstorm-y which is marginally better. Weather ups and down woes.

Friday I got off a little bit early so that was kind of neat. I went straight home and actually picked up a book! I’ve mentioned the slump I’ve been in for a while and well there’s nothing like a paranormal romance to bring me back. I randomly decided to read this author I never heard of before cause she has some pretty fantastic reviews on most of her series and I was feeling a really good paranormal. I would actually dub this one as having hints of urban fantasy and it’s super great cause there’s a lot of cursing in the book and it makes me feel like I’m not as bad with my cursing as the characters in these books. The little things I find to make me smile eh? πŸ˜‰ Plus! It aligns with my #UltimateReadingChallenge cause April’s book is one with a one word title and by the time I finish it tonight or tomorrow, it’ll fit in those parameters.

My husband and I finished season 2 of Jessica Jones which wasn’t as mind blowing as Season 1 but still pretty good nevertheless. I just love Jessica Jones’ snarky character attitude. She’s kind of like the girl version of Deadpool.. sort of. We started watching The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes and let me tell you, you have to watch this show! We’ve only watched the pilot so far but absolutely amazed. For example, one woman made her home out of abandoned 747 plane wings. I kid you not. It was the coolest thing I’d ever seen, not to mention the other houses in the set. Seriously, watch this show.

Sunday was Easter. My husband and I don’t celebrate though that might change when this kid gets here just cause kids. We spent the day just hanging out on the couch with the cats which is always so nice cause we don’t get to do it as often as we like. Then in the afternoon I met Patty for lunch. If you don’t know Patty, you should. She runs the blog Moohnshine’s Corner and it’s all about books. She hosts a lot of tours and blitzs and she’s just a lot of fun. Whenever she comes to visit family in my neck of the woods, we make a point to get a bite and talk. We could literally talk for hours if we didn’t have responsibilities. I always try to take her to a place she won’t find it in SC because who goes and visits a person and goes to the chain restaurants we always eat at right?? So she was introduced to the place my husband and I went to on our second date. It was great. She gave me a lot of pregnancy tips too cause I need them all. Here’s a picture of us:

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and feel free to share your shenanigans in the comments below!

Happy Monday! πŸ™‚

    1. Hahaha I’m debating of putting a picture post up one of these days cause Patty said the same thing until I took my jacket off. It hides it very well πŸ˜‰

  1. Ooh I wonder what book caught your attention. Maybe you can give a review when you’re done. Sorry to disappoint, I had a totally chill, shenanigan free weekend.

    1. πŸ™‚ I’m glad your weekend was great! The book is called Burn by Suzanne Wright. I’m definitely a fan. Thinking of reading her vampire series next since this one is only 3 books so far and it also says a lot cause I usually avoid vampire series these days.

      1. Have you read the Bitten series by Kelley Armstrong? The series was way off base but the books were awesome. I plowed through them only because I couldn’t stop myself.

          1. You wont regret reading it. I could read it again and probably will. The tv show… meh. They changed too much, didn’t follow the story and changed characters around liberally which is my number one pet peeve.

  2. hehe I bet I’d appreciate that book then, cos the only author that’s ever made me feel like I don’t swear too much in real life is Irvine Welsh πŸ˜‰ That’s good to know about Jessica Jones- pretty hard to live upto season 1 anyway, so I’m glad it’s good overall. Ooh I like the sound of world’s most extraordinary homes! Aww sounds like you had a lovely weekend! πŸ˜€

    1. Ooooh. I’ll have to check out this Irvine Welsh. Thank you! Yeah I mean it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. I have a strong hatred for Trish now. If you watch it, you’ll see why. Oh man, you would love The Extraordinary Homes! It’s absolutely fascinating. I almost want to do a episode review of each one like how you do Game of Thrones cause it’s that cool! Thank you! It was pretty chill. I hope your weekend was well. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks on all points of your comment! I thought the winter pic was pretty beautiful too considering it’s raining nonstop here today. At least we got a glimpse of the sun for a time. πŸ™‚

  4. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Glad you are doing well, and yes, we need to see the baby bump. I now have another blog to follow. Pretty soon, I will not have time to do anything else, but read everyone’s posts. It has been raining here too, I guess that means everything should be green soon.
